Photos of our "5 day escape from the winter" with Maria & Lars in January. For those who don't know, Malaga is in south Spain along the coast area. The weather was great (compared to where we were coming from). No winter coats for us - just a jumper was enough and sometimes during the day, just a t-shirt. Wow. My skin didn't know what hit it. What did we do in Malaga? Well, I think it we found the perfect balance between tourist things, shopping (everything is much cheaper there), drinking and eating (so cheap compared to here) and playing board games. What more could you ask for? Our hotel was next to a supermarket so everyday instead of paying LOADS for a breakfast, we got rolls, juice and cheese. We were prepared and had even taken our own knives for spreading and cutting.
And what is Malaga like? Okay for a few days but you get pretty tired of having grit in mouth and up your nose. Its just one big overly developed sprawling city. The choice of location was always going to be secondary to the main reasons for the trip: finding a cheap location for both Martijn and I & Maria and Lars to fly to; a place with some sun; and where we could catch up on our board games.
